A new way of sharing stamping!

I'm so excited!

I recently took the plunge and did my first "Facebook Live" livestream video! You can view it here:

This was such fun, knowing that stamping friends and non-stamping friends alike were there to watch my first foray into social media-based sales! My only wish is that I could see all of you, just like you could see me!

I chose to call this "Facebook Friday", and I pledged to do this at least throughout this month of May. I will be showing some of my favorite stamps that are on the retired list . You can view that list here:

At the end of the month, I will share some new product with everyone ! The new Stampin' Up catalog  is coming out June 1! "Facebook Live" will give me a way to reach out to some of my long-distance customers, as well as local friends that haven't stamped in a while.

The first episode put the spotlight on one of my favorite stamp sets that's on the retiring list called, "Bordering Blooms". (item # 133660)

Here's another one- the embossed flower border also has Wink of Stella glitter pen on the colored flowers , but I don't know if you can see it in the picture:

The last card shared used one of my very favorite greetings sets that has been around for a while and is now going away – "Sassy Salutations" (item #132070W, #126707 C)

There is a little trick to this card!

Photopolymer stamps are flexible but not flexible enough to make a circular image like this wreath! What you do is fold the super-sticky photopolymer stamp around a small clear block and stamp in segments around a (recommended) traced circle:

Don't miss this class!

One of my favorite items that is in the Occasions catalog this spring has been "Enjoy the Little Things", a home decor item kit. It is so cute with its 13 inspiring "boards", displayed for all to see on an easel. It's quite a pity that many people have just glossed by this kit in the catalog!

I had all intentions of offering a class for this project cute in May, and I still do! However, since it is being retired, not having made it into the new catalog, we have to act fast if you're going to get in on the fun!

What I have done are two things:

1) ... obtained a hostess code

This is something that has been in the existence but I have neglected to use it - but this is the perfect opportunity!

I will order all kits at once on May 1 at 9 PM.

They will be delivered to my home and I will sort and prep the kit for you before the class!

I own the matching stamp set, all inks, and the adhesives you will need to complete your kit. 

Having each card's supplies sorted and packed beforehand is a huge timesaver for this project, making assembly of each card fly by!

You saw a sneak peek of these cards a couple of weeks ago. Now let's take a closer look at each....

Our first Christmas card of the season! (Next month's class will be all Christmas cards!)

Stamps: Festival of Trees BUNDLE (includes stamps and matching punch) 

Found in Holiday catalog

Ink: Garden Green, Early Espresso, Real Red

Other: Gold Shimmer card stock, star from Itty Bitty Accents punch pack, Filigree Frame embossing folder.

( emboss folder in Holiday catalog)

Note: We inked up the whole tree in the Garden Green. Then, we removed the green ink from the tree trunk with a blender pen! Finally, we added a brown tree trunk with the Early Espresso marker.

This is sold as a clear photopolymer set. It will make lining up other set element,s like tree garland, really simple!

I can't believe that I've had this set sitting on my stamp room desk for over a month, and this is the first time I got to use it! 

I love it! (And, so did everyone else!)

It was made with the Flower Patch set and matching framelit. 

We only used one framelit for this card but there is actually a whole set that matches the stamps:

These two are available to purchase as a bundle so you don't have to buy one or the other. You won't want to do that, believe me!

Inks: Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral, and Wild Wasabi.

Note: This is sold only as a photopolymer set, making placement super easy with the totally clear stamps! Lining up the green stem for a second stamp, in order to make the flower stem longer, was so easy!

Although you can't see it in this picture, the rhinestone was colored with a Calypso Coral Blendabilities alcohol marker before adding it to the center of the flower - perfect color coordination!

Sold as a single wood stamp, Halloween Street, is a great purchase!

Ink: Basic Black (dots were created with a number two pencil eraser!)

This card is super fast and easy! I used a birthday greeting, but any can be used. Same goes for matching card stock and t"ink! (I used the retired color More Mustard)

March 2/5/15 class cards!

Here they are!

This month cards made at the 2/5/15 were a mixture of spring, Sale-a-bration and Occasions Mini catalog. In other words, a real hodgepodge - but cute, nevertheless!

I will discuss each of the cards from left to right starting on the top row.

This card just screams, "I'm ready for spring!"

The base is Daffodil Delight card stock. It was run through the Big Shot with the oval frame from Designer Frames. 

The bow was added with a glue dot and made from the white organza ribbon. I love this ribbon because it is satin in the middle. Very elegant!

 The oval piece is an "isolated" vase from the wood stamp Vivid Vases. 

We used a black marker to only ink-up that vase in particular. The flower was colored and then the whole piece was punched out using the large oval punch.

Of course the perfect envelope liner was made using the Envelope Liner Framelits for the Big Shot with Polkadot Parade Designer Series Paper!

This simple "thank you" card was a favorite of many receiving comments of being "elegant" and/or being easily used as a masculine card. 

The greeting is from the photopolymer set Another Thank You.  

I do love this set, especially for the largest stamp. I get a lot of use out of it and I love how the photopolymer stamps stick to the clear blocks!

(I did notice recently however that one of the sets was announced as "sold out" on the Stampin' Up! website. I didn't realize it, but with these stamps, when they are gone, they are gone! So if you see something you like be sure to get it! They are not in our catalogs, but rather found online. You go to the Stampin' Up! store and click on "stamps" on the left-hand side. One of the choices will be our photopolymer sets where you can see all we still have to offer.)

Anyway back to the card ....it was embossed in gold on a Crumb Cake card base. We added a strip of the Brushed Gold card stock (found in the main catalog) and finished it off with some Watercolor Wonder washi tape (Occasions catalog) on the bottom of the card.

And what better way to line the envelope than with the Gold Foil Sheets from the Occasions catalog, cut out with the Envelope Liner Framelits?

The next card features the "in-colors" of Coastal Cabana and Strawberry Slush on a Very Vanilla card stock base. The matching envelope features the Chevron embossing folder to coordinate with the chevron banner on the card.

 This card was made using the Banner Blast stamp set and the matching Banner Punch. Both are free options during Sale-a-bration! When you spend $50 (net total) you get to choose something free! March 31 is the last day of our Sale-a-Bration - don't miss out!

My favorite of the group is this card:

It uses the new Retro Fresh washi tape along with the Just Sayin' stamp set and the matching Word Bubble framelits . All our featured in that Occasions catalog, and you can purchase the stamp set and framelits as a bundle in order to save money!

The colors are: Tangerine Tango and  Coastal Cabana with some So Saffron and Soft Suede in the striped tape.

We used a striped embossing folder that was sold in the holiday catalog on the flap of the matching envelope. What would look even cuter, I think, is a strip of matching washi tape to hold the envelope closed. Try it!

The fifth and final card of the group is a lovely masculine card that features the popular Wetlands stamps set.

I love this stamp set not only because it lends itself well to masculine cards but anything that requires a "beachy" feel. Just incorporate the "sandpiper" stamp into your card or scrapbook page and add some sand/water colors!

This card was done very simply. All stamping, including on the envelope, was done in Chocolate Chip ink. We used a sponge dauber rubbed on the Baked Brown Sugar ink pad and "swished" - just to add some background color.

The card base is Soft Suede and we added a layering piece of Baked Brown Sugar card stock. The goose was stamped on Confetti white card stock - you can see some of the multicolored flecks in that piece. The final step was adding a piece of Chocolate Chip taffeta ribbon.
