Set sampler Saturday! - Age Awareness

Tomorrow is our 23rd wedding anniversary!

Tonight my husband and I went out to dinner in order to celebrate.

Since our morning was filled with a baseball game for our younger son, and my afternoon was making graduation cards for our older son (he has parties to go to this weekend), I had no time to do my set sampler cards!

I was bound and determined to keep it "set sampler Saturday" and not Sunday!

When we came home, I decided I would do some really quick cards.

Isn't that what we just need sometimes? Quick cards?

You know, when you're in a hurry and you say, "Oh no! I need to make a card!"

Well, if it's a birthday this is your go-to set!

It's called Age Awareness and it's new this year! 

As you can see it has lots of different stamps! What I like most about it - it's photopolymer, so it's clear all the way through for easy placement! Plus, they just STICK to the clear block without any fussing around. (I am starting to prefer these over the regular clear-mount stamps that we sell...)

I consulted my vast file of Pinterest cards... (like I said I needed quick cards - quickly!) 

Mostly CASEs with some tweaking...

June 2/5/15 Class!

Every month on a Friday (usually the third) I hold a 2/5/15 class.

It's called that because you make 2 each of 5 different cards... for only $15!

They are meant to be simple cards-so simple that even a beginner stamper can do them. I am getting better (finally) at making really simple cards, so it takes only about 1 1/2 hours to complete this class. (although Lois and Donna finished today in 55 minutes! Yowie Zowie!)

Sometimes there will be a theme to the class. In the past I have done themes such as: masculine, brides and babies, Christmas, and kids' cards. 

Other times I try to focus on seasonal offerings: Sale-a-Bration, mini-catalogs, spring/Easter, etc., with no given theme. This is one of those times!

Let's take a closer look at each of these very simple cards... All ideas came from Pinterest, but only one is a direct copy!

I tried to incorporate the new In Colors as well as a few new stamp sets! Some items are retired, but I have them and want to use them. No one seems to mind!

TbT- You've come a long way, baby!

 

This was one of the first cards I made after my stroke. I had the stroke at the end of November 2012 and I held stamp club again in February as a way of motivating myself and seeing my friends.

I remember showing them this card and showing a nicer one on my laptop saying, "Here is what it is supposed to look like...!"

Mine was so crooked due to my right hand tremor.. Look at the bike from the Feeling Sentimental set... It looks as though it's on a bumpy road instead of a nice level path! LOL

Well, this card is in my stamp room and it serves as a reminder of just how far along I have come in a year and half.

It also reminds me that I have such special people in my life!

Friends who have stuck by me through thick and thin.

Friends who didn't care that my card was sub-par(!). They just came to see me.

I am so blessed and this card reminds me just how much!
